Restaurant Name: Hunan East (on 4th St)
Restaurant Rating: 1 (10 being the highest)
I’ve been in some bad pseudo-Chinese restaurants in my travels, but this place, if not the worst, is very close to it! The embarrassing part is that I actually went there twice. I first ordered Moo Shu pork which at least had an adequate quantity of vegetables, though the vegetables were not the proper mu shu variety (day lillies, etc.). They were mostly shredded cabbage. Well, silly me, I tried again, thinking they should be able to do up chow mein correctly, if nothing else. What I got was a bowl full of plain soft noodles with a few small pieces of chicken and a few tiny shreds of shredded cabbage, accompanied by two fried dough things, and a mound of plain white rice. Basically just plain noodles and plain rice! Silliest excuse for chow mein I’ve ever seen!
