Join us for the next Flag Tech Talk on Wednesday, May 15th at 6 p.m. at Bookman’s. The lecture is entitled “The Battle of the Search Engines” and will be presented by Joe Bodin of Reliable Web Designs.
The Internet and Search Engines have changed our lives in amazing ways adding an onslaught of readily available information. Through time, we have seen drastic changes in how this information was provided. From Yahoo, who was the original big guy, to Google who then emerged and began their efforts to take over the world. Add into the mix the failing MSN who remade themselves into Bing and have been desperately trying to make a dent in the market. Beyond this, there are literally thousands of other Search Engines out there that each offer something different and special. And now, Social Media sites like FaceBook are doing their best to find their niche in the Searchable process online. During this Tech Talk, we will discuss the different Search Engines trying to figure out what makes which ones better, get everyone’s insight into what they like and what they don’t, and then look into the future to try to figure out where it is all going.
(Bring a Laptop or Tablet if you have one…!)
This lecture is part of the Flag Tech Talk discussion series that is held on the third Wednesday of every month. These free technical lectures are designed to help educate regular people so they understand more about computers, the internet, and the resources available to them when it comes to managing their small business or organization. They are sponsored by Reliable Web Designs, Orig’native LLC, The Graphic Bean, and Coconino Community College SBDC. These are more personal discussions than lectures and we’d encourage everyone to come armed with questions…!
