On the Radio: Reaching Your Audience Over the Air – Flagstaff Communicators luncheon

At the March meeting of Communicators, panel members Rich Malone of Yavapai Broadcasting; Sam Ward of Rewind Radio, and Steve Benning of 103.7 The Eagle Rocks — will discuss how to get your news on the air.

Malone, operations manager for Yavapai Broadcasting, oversees six radio stations, Cable Channel 2 and is Webmaster IT at Sunny 100.1 Morning Show. Ward is program director for KFLX Rewind 92.5 and 104.1 and morning show host of “Sam in the Morning.”

Benning is general manager at KZGL 103.7 The Eagle Rocks.

They will offer suggestions on how local businesses and nonprofit organizations can submit calendar items in a timely manner and improve their chances of getting coverage of their events. Attendees also will learn what makes a compelling story worthy of press coverage.

Contact information for local media representatives and advertising rate card information will also be available.

The lunch meeting, which is open to the public, will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, March 14 at Collins Irish Pub Speakeasy, 2 No. Leroux St., Flagstaff.

The cost is $10 for members with reservations, $13 at the door, $12 for guests with reservations, $15 at the door.
